Description |
Rhyton form trophy cup with a copper-plated fox head base and conical silver cup that has script engraving: "Bryn Mawr Hound Show / 1938 / Best Basset Dog, Hound / Won by / Stockford Doctor". There are two applied roundells for the Bryn Mawr Horse Show Association and the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America above the engraved text. The Bryn Mawr Hound show began in 1914 at the Bryn Mawr Polo Field and was held in connection with the Bryn Mawr Horse Show. |

This trophy was won by the donor's parents, Alfred Elliot Bissell (1903-1975) and Julia du Pont Andrews Bissell (1907-1994) for their dog "Stockford Doctor". Alfred Elliot Bissell was the nephew of Emily Bissell (1861-1948) of Christmas Seals fame. The donor is her grand-niece. |
