Windsor style side chair with bamboo turnings and a saddle seat. The chair has a rectangular back with seven spindles and a wooden plate between the upper two rails. It is marked "J. Chesnut / Wilmington / Delaware". Jared Chestnut (1772? - 1837) had a shop on Market Street, between Front and Second streets, in Wilmington where he made rush-bottomed and Windsor chairs.
