Description Silhouette of Anne Cloud, who married George Lodge of Brandywine Hundred in 1822. This silhouette is one of a pair done at the time of their marriage. The 3" x 1 1/2" silhouette depicts a young woman in profile facing left. The figure has her hair up with a thin strand visible over her forehead and wears a lace ruffle at the neck. The portrait has been cut out from white paper that has been mounted over a piece of black paper to provide contrast and set behind a piece of glass that has been reverse-painted in black with a scalloped oval opening trimmed with paired silver teardrop motifs and a silver rosette in each corner.
