Description Dark blue transfer-printed pitcher from a pitcher and bowl wash stand set. The pitcher has a squat body with the same image on both sides: water front scene with two tall ships decked out in flags and surrounded by small boats. Text in a roundel on the front of the body underneath the lip reads: "Landing of Gen. La Fayette at Castle Garden, New York, 16 August 1824". The rest of the body is filled in with blue floral designs.
