Description Hand-stitched, red linen ceremonial Marshall's sash worn in a Columbus Day Parade in Wilmington. The upper portion has a circumference of 61" and two untrimmed 11" long tails. One side of the sash has a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" black and white printed engraving of a bust portrait of Christopher Columbus surrounded by an applied 3/8" wide gold tape border. Beneath this part is a 1 7/8" wide band of white linen with black printed text "Marshal." The base of the sash on the reverse side has a 3" diameter rosette made from gold sequins and metallic coil trim. All of the edges are rough and unfinished.
