Description Unframed, black and white etching of Belmont Hall in Smyrna, DE. The image depicts a head-on view of a two-and-a-half storey brick building with a hip roof and widow's walk at the peak. It has a single storey Greek Revival colonnaded front porch with a small triangular pediment over the main doorway. There is a circular driveway in front of the house that contains a small central ornamental garden with a stone urn planter set slightly to the left of center. Six pigeons (four in flight and two on the ground) are visible in the driveway on the left. The whole building is surrounded by dense mature tree growth. The etching has a printed "Rob Shaw" signature near the lower right corner but is also signed in pencil beneath the image in the lower left corner. There are small remarques of a fireplace (left) and framed mirror or window (right) beneath the image.
