Description Federal sofa with a square, fully upholstered back and sides. Refinished and rebuilt in 2000 by New Life Furniture Systems of Newport, DE, who reupholstered it in Brunschwig & Fils moss green faux horsehair fabric with a small dot pattern. The front seat rail has multiple tack heads in a swag pattern and a loose "squab" seat cushion.

Provenance Purchased from the estate of Charles Dorman for use in the Read Bedroom, which had a sofa in it according to the 1836 Inventories.
