Description Light-colored bamboo walking stick divided into four sections and topped with a deer antler cap that is set at a 45 degree angle and topped with a silver disc. The small section beneath the cap has a hole drilled through it for a tassel or other ornament. The metal sleeve tip at the base of the cane is missing.

Owned Jacob Jones
Provenance This cane originally belonged to War of 1812 naval hero, Commodore Jacob Jones (1768 -1850), and was given by him to Joseph Roop, a New Castle County farmer. The cane then passed to Roop's grandson, Hubert A. Roop, who owned a printing establishment at 825 Orange Street in Wilmington.
