Description Child's walking frame with a circular form and a small rope sling at the top to hold a child and support it upright using four iron rods attached to a wide circular wood base with five caster wheels.

Provenance Found in the attic of Ashley house, built on what is now Maryland Ave. & DuPont Road by Ashton Richardson in 1804. The walker was apparently in the house when the donor's grandfather (artist J.D. Chalfant) bought it around 1899-1905. The donor (an architect) was remodeling the house into offices in 1990 when he found the item and donated it to DHS.
