Machine-stitched, wool, U.S. Yacht Ensign flag that has seven red and six white stripes and a 19 1/2" x 16 1/2" navy blue canton with a central white fouled anchor motif inside a circle of thirteen white stars. The flag has a canvas hoist with two steel grommets. This flag design first came into use in 1849 and was meant to be used by yachts of American Registry so that they would not have to clear customs when pleasure sailing from port to port.
