Description Native American stone ax head, probably from the mid to late Archaic Period (6000-1000 BC), made with an approximately 1" groove at about 1" from the rounded side. There is an old red and white typewritten label affixed to one side: "April, 1895. / Indian Axe / found on the estate of John S. / Boyd. From Miss Mary S. / Boyd."
