Description Ethiopian Odun drum, stand, and drumsticks. The drum has a rawhide top and base that are tied together with thongs. The body of the drum is covered with a polyester print fabric that has green and blue floral designs on a red ground. Four bells and wooden beads decorate the top. Two wooden drumsticks of different lengths (one is 12" long, the other 13 3/4" long) are secured to the side of the drum through one of the thongs. Each drumstick has a duct tape wrapped top and red magic marker designs on the bottom half. The wire stand has three feet and has been covered in a colorful cotton print fabric featuring designs of African women carrying jars on a yellow and orange ground.

Provenance The donor, a master drummer, has an African drumming group in Wilmington and received this drum as a gift. The drum is from his personal collection.
