Description Dark blue transfer-printed wash stand bowl with a broad, flat rim. The bowl has an image on the inside of the bowl of a water front scene with two tall ships decked out in flags and surrounded by small boats. Text underneath the scene reads: "Landing of Gen. LaFayette at Castle Garden, New York, 16 August 1824". The outside has blue floral designs around it. It is stamped: "Clews Warranted Staffordshire" in a circle surrounding a crown on the base.
