Provenance This ribbon was worn to celebrate the 29th Anniversary of Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation by a member of the Afro-American Social Club No. 1 of Lewes, Delaware. The event took place in Wilmington on New Year's Day, 1892 and Frederick Douglass (ca. 1817-1895) was the featured speaker.
