Description Unframed, oil on canvas painting by Alexander Charles Stuart (1831-1898) that depicts two wooden hulled ships on a flat, calm, open sea under hazy sunlight. The vessel on the right is a warship with three masts, rolled up sails, a central smoking chimney, and gun ports visible on the left side. The smaller vessel on the left is a schooner. There is a small launch that contains three figures near the hull of the warship.
