Porcelain teapot in the "English Rose" pattern with a spare, Neoclassical silhouette and straight spout. The handle consists of two twined porcelain strands with orange-painted floral decoration at the base where they meet the body. The teapot has a white ground on which is a painted a small pink floral sprig design at the center of the body on each side. Three thin orange bands encircle the teapot at the top and these are overlaid with four painted floral sprig designs at regularly spaced intervals. The decoration on the lid repeats this pattern and terminates in a large strawberry finial.

The body is decorated on the sides with a sepia roundel of a shepherdess and dog reclining in a wooded setting. Above the image is a gilt-edged shield with the script initials "MH" for Mary Hemphill. The lid, upper portion of the body, and base of the handle are gilded and decorated with small blue flowers.

Oval-shaped porcelain teapot and stand that is part of an incomplete set. The teapot is decorated with a yellow and gold scrolling foliate design around the outside of the body, lid, and rim of the stand and has thin bands of gilding around the foot, rim, spout, and handles.

Silver teapot with a baluster-form body on a raised, round foot with a 1/4" wide band of gadrooning around it. The hinged lid terminates in a flame finial and the spout and handle have shell and scroll decorative motifs. One side of the body is engraved: "Presented To / Florence Crittenton Home / By / Harriet E. Grommon / Dec 1st, 1939". The Wilmington Florence Crittenton home for unwed mothers began as the Door of Hope in 1894 and then joined the Florence Crittenton national network in 1897. The home was at several different locations over the years. It had a rented house at 902 Market street in 1896. In March 1898, it moved to 513 Jefferson Street, then to 917 Ninth Street (April 1901)
