Native American stone ax head, probably from the mid to late Archaic Period (6000-1000 BC), made with a 1" groove at about 1 1/2" from the rounded side. There is an old red and white typewritten label (damaged) affixed to one side: "Jan 1868. Indian axe. 3 mi. / from Smyrna. From Dr. William Cummings / Appoquinimink."

Light-colored bamboo walking stick divided into four sections and topped with a deer antler cap that is set at a 45 degree angle and topped with a silver disc. The small section beneath the cap has a hole drilled through it for a tassel or other ornament. The metal sleeve tip at the base of the cane is missing.

It has a single storey Greek Revival colonnaded front porch with a small triangular pediment over the main doorway. There is a circular driveway in front of the house that contains a small central ornamental garden with a stone urn planter set slightly to the left of center. Six pigeons (four in flight and two on the ground) are visible in the driveway on the left. The whole building is surrounded by dense mature tree growth. Framed, oval silhouette of Governor Thomas Collins (1732-1789) of Smyrna. The 3" x 1 1/2" bust portrait depicts a man facing right. There is pencil text beneath the image: "Governor / Thomas Collins / of Delaware / 1732-89." The silhouette is cut from white paper that has been mounted over a black silk background in a metal frame. Collins served during the American Revolution as a Lieutenant Colonel in Caesar Rodney's Upper Kent militia and within a year was a Brigadier General of the Delaware Militia. He served as President (Governor) of the state of Delaware from October 28, 1786 until his death on March 29, 1789.

Federal style, bow front chest of drawers with four drawers of equal length, French feet, and a scalloped skirt with a central lobe. The front corners are chamfered with string inlay that suggests a fluted column. The drawer fronts have string inlay and inlaid escutcheons in "Terrapin" form. The brasses are original.

Hand and machine-stitched, full-length, two piece, blue and white checked silk day dress with short sleeves and a high, round neck. The bodice is boned and back closing with twelve buttons (all present) in addition to five additional pairs of hooks and eyes near the waist. The sleeves and bottom of the bodice are trimmed with a light blue, machine-made, length of sheer gathered ribbon with a blue butterfly design. The skirt closes at the back with a single hook and eye and has a single linen pocket on the right side. The skirt also has a six inch linen kick pleat and blue wool braid trim at the hem.

Hand and machine-stitched, ivory silk-satin two-piece wedding dress that belonged to Hannah Mariah Haigh Dawson (1863-1929). The outfit consists of a bodice and skirt. The bodice is front closing with sixteen hooks and eyes (all present) and has an overlapping cross-over design. The front seams are diagonal and give the front of the bodice a chevron shape. The back tapers to a point and is embellished with two rows of ivory feather stitching. The neckline is high with two ruffles around it and the leg-o-mutton sleeves are long with round cuffs that are trimmed with a small single ruffle. The matching skirt is long, A-line, and back closing with two hooks and eyes. It has a 6 3/4" wide

Female doll with a pink wax over papier-mâché head with molded blonde hair and black glass eyes. The arms and lower legs are painted wood and the cloth body is stuffed with sawdust. The underclothes of the outfit (petticoat, pantalets, and short-sleeved undershirt) are cotton twill. The outer layer consists of a linen skirt and mantle with a pattern of red dots against a white background. Both are trimmed with pink linen flounces. The feet and legs have tan cotton stockings and brown leather button shoes.

Large, framed needlework picture made for display at the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia by Sarah E. Anthony of Smyrna, DE. This design received a "Medal for Originality in Design" and a "Diploma for Excellence in Workmanship." The piece is divided into two sections. The upper section has a black velvet background with a central 16 1/2" x 7 3/4" embroidered panel depicting a three-masted ship at sea. There is white text embroidered above this image: "Welcome / To Our Shores, / All Nations." Flanking this text are the flags of Brazil (left) and Italy (right). Armless sofa with serpentine front and crest rail; mahogany veneer over pine; seat and back (both sides) are upholstered with a dark peach colored silk brocade fabric (not original according to the donor) with a repeating design of alternating dark red roses and pale blue flowers; the crest has a central carved stylized foliage motif that is repeated (in a more muted form) at the front and center of the wood base. Unframed, folk art, watercolor landscape painting of the original Old Presbyterian Church and cemetery at Lake Como, Smyrna, DE. The painting is a slightly peculiar looking patchwork of scenes. The left side has a church and cemetery with two small figures, one walking in the cemetery and one standing by a gate in the lower left corner. The right side of the painting has a 6 1/4" x 4 1/2" patch of paper stuck into the upper right corner. This same side has a landscape scene with a lake and three small figures in a boat. There is a strange white ghost image of trees and buildings that runs diagonally along the shoreline (probably meant to represent a reflection). There is no visible signatur
