Silver Rococo-style punch strainer with a circular form and deep well pierced by concentric circles of small holes. The strainer has a flat, decorative handle that extends from one side; faintly scalloped under the rim; short, flat ridge extends from the bowl. Marked "PD" And "David" within two rectangles at the end of the handle.

Brightly colored, framed chromolithograph depicting a scene with a crowing rooster that has its foot on a dead Copperhead snake with two bleeding gashes near its head. To the rooster's left, a hen bends to peck the snake while protectively spreading her wings over eight baby chicks. Another chick appears near a bowl of water in the right foreground. The background contains a landscape with part of a shed structure. 1940.048 - Chair, Arm

Early Federal-style armchair made from American ash and tulip poplar with a square back that has an open lyre motif splat, stepped crest rail, and two finials. The chair has a square seat frame with a bowed front and straight, round, reeded legs that terminate in spade feet. The arms are gently curved and reeded with scrolled knuckles. The corners of the frame have applied acanthus leaf decorative moldings. The arm pads and seat have been reupholstered in a peach silk brocade fabric. The chair is currently painted white and gilded but this is a nineteenth-century addition (according to paint analysis, the original paint color was a shade of blue-green or grey-green). Unframed silhouette of George Lodge (1797-1880) of Brandywine Hundred, who married Anne Cloud in 1822. This silhouette is one of a pair done at the time of their marriage. The 3" x 1 1/2" silhouette depicts a man in profile facing left. The figure has a high forehead and prominent nose. Silhouette of Anne Cloud, who married George Lodge of Brandywine Hundred in 1822. This silhouette is one of a pair done at the time of their marriage. The 3" x 1 1/2" silhouette depicts a young woman in profile facing left. The figure has her hair up with a thin strand visible over her forehead and wears a lace ruffle at the neck. The portrait has been cut out from white paper that has been mounted over a piece of black paper to provide contrast and set behind a piece of glass that has been reverse-painted in black with a scalloped oval opening trimmed with paired silver teardrop motifs and a silver rosette in each corner.
